I smell a winner!

June 3rd, 2009 by admin

Barefoot Tess partnered with ShoeHunting.com to offer a free pair of shoes to one winner based on most embarrassing shoe story submission. There were several hysterical entries, but one in particular captured our attention and tickled our senses beyond the rest. Congrats to Allyson, and may her feet be stink free in Barefoot Tess’s quality footwear from now on:

“About a year ago I got a new job that required me to completely revamp my wardrobe. I was shopping on a pretty tight budget – it was my first job after grad school – and against my better judgment decided I could skimp on some basic items. I purchased a pair of black patent (read “plastic”) ballet flats at a discount store. They were fairly comfortable, got the job done, and would last me until I could afford something of higher quality – or so I thought.

During my first week at work I wore them three times. On the third day, I was sitting in a meeting when I noticed a terrible smell coming up from under the table. My feet had been sweating in those plastic shoes and they were *stinky*! Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one who noticed. A coworker commented on it, in the middle of the meeting, and soon everyone was talking about it. I tried to joke along with the others, playing like it wasn’t me, but I wanted to melt into the floor! Needless to say, I threw out the flats that night. Lesson learned: don’t skimp on the shoes!”

MAY all your dreams come true!

May 29th, 2009 by admin

My birthday is in February, so let’s just get it out of the way that Feb is the best month of the whole year (not a personal bias, it is just a fact. Beautiful white snow, a few precious days shorter than all the others which makes it unique and special, and a glorious day full of praise, gifts, and attention for yours truly. How could that not qualify as the best month?).

Other than Feb, my favorite months are the summer months – full of sun, laughter, vacation days, and no wake motor boat trips around an adorable chain of lakes. This year, however, I have an even better reason to love the summer months… or more specifically the transition from May to June. Why? Why I’ll tell you:

To celebrate the transition into yet another glorious month (the first of the true summer months in my opinion… going by a school calendar at least), Barefoot Tess is having a “MAY all your dreams come true SALE” going on all weekend at Barefoot Tess! The entire site is 20% off for the last 3 days of May – an outrageous site-wide sale as we slide into summer. When you use the code ‘20OFF‘ you can grab sandals, sneakers, wedges, heels… all at an amazing 20% off discount!

May all your dreams come true.

May you be given 20% off all your favorite shoes at BFT.com.

May you thoroughly enjoy your final days of May.

May you have a wonderful June.

I could go on. I shouldn’t. I won’t.

Snatch up your favorite summer styles before May ends, and enter into June fully prepared! Don’t forget to use the code “20OFF” to collect your savings (enter code on the first page of checkout)

Winning is fun.

May 12th, 2009 by admin

Once again I am impressed and ecstatic about the enthusiasm and plethora of guesses (and some so early in the morn!). Most impressed, of course, by the winning guess who not only correctly identified the famous feet – but also made a very educated guess of the shoes themselves (to be honest, I am not sure what style they are exactly… but they’re so cute!).

Who was this lucky (read talented) famous foot identifier? Drumroll…

And the $25 coupon grand prize goes to this week’s winner: LINDSEY W! Congrats Lindsey! She correctly identified the beautiful and large-footed Kim Kardashian as our mystery famous feet. Proof below:

Whether you got the $25 coupon or not, head over to Barefoot Tess and check out the recently reduced prices on fabulous styles. Blogging Barefoot fans can get even more discount: just type ‘BLOG’ and get 5% off your total purchase! And stay tuned to the site, a little birdie told me new shoes are coming in this week!

Happy shopping!

We have a winner!

April 24th, 2009 by admin

Sorry for the delay, I was spending the morning rushing to the airport and then squeezing into a middle seat between two people who probably should have bought 1.5 seats each… as their thick arms draped into my tiny crammed space squishing me further into a suffocated mess.

Sometime in the middle of this ordeal, the Name That Shoe 2 mystery shoe was discovered! Congratulations to our grand prize winner Tiffany for figuring out the mystery shoe: The All Black ‘Indian Girl’ Sandal. Thanks to all those who commented and guessed during this contest – I hope you had fun. Next time maybe it will be you that snags the prize!

How about a group thumbs up for Tiffany:

Don’t forget to follow this blog by clicking on either the Facebook or BlogLovin’ “Follow This Blog” links on the right of this entry so you can get updates and notices when I post new entries, contests, ramblings, whatever… and get a jump start on all things shoe.

All Black ‘Indian Girl’ Clues revealed:

1) Anyone would instantly be persuaded to grab these adorable shoes! (Just a hint that it was made of suede.)

2) Color me happy with all these hues. (The assortment of colored beads make this one of the most colorful shoes on the website!)

3) This is a shoe, not a surrey, but one can easily see the similarities! (Surrey with a fringe on top? Fringe on the heel. Ok, only OKLAHOMA fans would have gotten this one, but still – it had to be done.)

Enjoy the rest of your day… and stay tuned to BarefootTess.com this weekend for some new fabulous shoes!

Name That Shoe 2!

April 23rd, 2009 by admin

Another round of Name That Shoe has now begun!

For those of you who don’t yet know how to play, here is the deal: This game is quite simple, quite fun, and quite lucrative. Inspired by The Ellen Show’s “Mystery Word” game, I have a predetermined word – the name of a Barefoot Tess shoe – which I am trying to get you to guess. In order to figure out which of the vast assortment of fabulous shoes at BarefootTess.com that I have chosen, you must stay tuned to Blogging Barefoot for continuous clues. The longer the mystery goes unsolved, the more clues I will give you.

-

You are allowed to guess as many times as you wish, by commenting on this entry. Anyone who provides a guess by commenting on this blog will be automatically entered into our monthly blog drawing for a shoe discount at BarefootTess.com, but the grand prize of $50 will go to the first person to correctly guess the magic shoe! There are no guessing limits per person – so guess away until I post that there is a winner!

(Look carefully at this image: a Shoe Wheel! It was advertised as a shoe storage container, and I’m just obsessed – but prefer to think of it as Blogging Barefoot’s shoe version of The Price Is Right’s big wheel that the contestants spin for Showcase Showdown. C’mon, you know you love that show too! So if it helps you get into the mood, pretend to spin this sucker as you think up answers to the following clues)

Let’s begin. To get you started, here are three clues about this week’s Magic Shoe:
Clues:

1) Anyone would instantly be persuaded to grab these adorable shoes!

2) Color me happy with all these hues.

3) This is a shoe, not a surrey, but one can easily see the similarities!

Happy guessing and searching on BarefootTess.com! Good luck!
