It’s a sad time, as our girl Lindsey has joined the ranks of Paris Hilton, Khloe KaRdashian, and Martha Stewart, in jail. Everybody makes mistakes, and we love our misguided celebs, so I’m not judging. I’m just wondering, what kind of shoes do they wear with the orange jump suit? It’s a tough color, and no-doubt a tough cut, but perhaps with the right shoes and maybe a brooch and a cute coiffure, it’s possible to look cute.
Try these, ladies!

You know when you’ve assembled an outfit and it’s not like you just threw on jeans an a t-shit, this is an outfit outfit? Sometimes it’s a look you really want to stand behind and you think it looks awesome, but you’re a little nervous that you might have crossed the line between edgy and “what was she thinking?”
You know when you dig an old vintage piece out of your mom’s closet and it smells a little weird, but you want desperately to wear it despite the fact that you’re not quite sure how? With bangles? Unbuttoned? As a dress?
You know when you have a simple black dress and for the love of god, you have to accessorize the hell out of it or you know you’ll just end up looking like a legal assistant? But which accessories and does your scarf clash with that wide belt?
And finally, you know when you have this great look put together but you’re trying to decide between two different pairs of Barefoot Tess shoes? Both look cute, but there’s got to be a winner in this equation.
Sometimes you just need help. Fashism is a website that allows you to ask an entire website of followers their opinion before you leave the house. You upload your picture and the feedback just flies in. Because sometimes you don’t want your sister to know you took the tags off of her new short, or your roommate is napping, or your mom will tell you that sweater is garish–you just don’t get it, mom.

Usually when I make a discovery, I tell a few people. I text my sister if I find a nail salon that gives long hand massages. I e-mail a few of my friends when I hear about an upcoming concert or about how our childhood bully is pregnant. And then there are times when I make a discovery so big and momentous, so life-changing and spectacular that I can’t just tell a few people. I have to EVERYONE. It’s a service really– I do it for the greater good. I do it for humanity.
Introducing my latest discovery (It’s one for the books): CHOCOMIZE

Chocomize is an online chocolate store where you can design your very own custom chocolate bar. You start with a base of milk, dark, or white chocolate and then you can choose from innumerable ingredients, anything from 23 Karat gold powder to gogi berries to bacon. The combinations are nearly endless. In fact, if every citizen of New York City ate one different chocolate bar a day, it would take over 3 years until two people had exactly the same chocolate bar.
So take my word for it and try it! Use code ‘TRYME’ and receive 10% off your order of custom chocolate! Enjoy!

It’s not enough anymore to be told, “we’re going to the beach,” and know what you’re going to wear, because every beach has it’s own distinct feel. Show up on the glamorous French Riviera in your preppy Cape Cod suit and you’ll stick out like a sore thumb, mostly because you’re not topless, but also because you’ve got the wrong style all together. Of course if you’re going to your grandparents dorky lake beach for old people you have the right to wear a bikini as opposed to a full support one-piece, but in general, the beach dictates the beachwear. (In a fun way!)
And of course no matter which beach you choose, Barefoot Tess has the sandals!

Don’t worry, all of the Russian spies have been detained and they’re going home. As it turns out though, they were all pretty cool people and their American friends and neighbors are really going to miss them. Some were known for throwing great dinner parties, another couple for their beautiful garden, and of course Anna Chapman for her tabloid exploits. (She’s very glamorous and very sexy.)
It seems they could have led long healthy lives here in the suburbs, complete with bake sales, book clubs, and secret meetings in high-rise parking lots. They weren’t bothering anyone or obtaining any classified information anyway. They blew it though because they were bad at being spies, ever forgetting the rules. One in particular probably did them in in the end: they didn’t have the right shoes. I know some forgot to change their names (woops!) and one wrote all of his passwords on a piece of paper and left it next to his computer (that could happen to anyone who can’t memorize) But I bet in the end it was the shoes that did them in. If you want to be a spy, you’ve got to have the right shoes.

You may have even seen this before, you know, when it was viral 2 years ago, but I just re-watched it and it seems so fitting for a shoe blog. BFT is working on a video of our own, which we’ll let you know about when the time comes. For now though, we’re really obsessed with this, as we have been for the past 2 years.
If you pay close attention, which you will because you’re also going to be obsessed, you’ll see some of these shoes look BFT-sized! (sizes 10-15!)

The Corso Como ‘South Beach’: South beach is known for leisure, luxury, and lavishness. These opulently designed and detailed leather sandals embody the spirit of the resort town and look gorgeous with resort wear.
Additionally, Reese Witherspoon thinks so too, so now you know they’re cool.

When choosing a staple shoe, it’s important to consider how that shoe is going to work with your day and night looks alike, as well as your dressy and casual. Things to consider are the cut of the shoe, the height, and very importantly, the color. Black is a sure bet in the winter, but depending on your wardrobe, it will refuse to carry you through all seasons. Let down by your black shoes, you’ll be forced to search out another option, one more forgiving that you can lean on and walk in year-round. And that’s how we come to brown. It’s less severe, and more versatile. It matches everything (even black–yeah, you can do that now) and it makes a statement. With black, you’ve thrown on your ‘match everything’ shoes. With brown, you’ve got yourself a look.
All of these and more available from Barefoot Tess!
