Weekend Trip Series, Post 2: The Road Trip

June 22nd, 2010 by The Barefoot Blogger: Laura Kleinbaum

It’s the weekend and all you want to do is jump into a convertible and hit the open road.  You’ll leave home for a few days spent crumpled in the back seat and a few nights spent trying to figure out if anyone’s ever been murdered in your motel room.  It’ll be great.  The best thing about road trips is that the possibilities are endless–the country is teeming with interesting attractions for you and your friends to enjoy, and there’s no shortage of diners along the way.

When packing for a road trip, it important to only bring the essentials.  Of course you want to look cute the entire time, and you should definitely bring a bathing suit for the motel pool.  But besides that, the most important thing is a pair on sunglasses.  No one wants to squint her way down the highway.

Now that you’re going on a road trip, here are the top 5 road trip attractions in the US (according to me.)

Dollywood- You can’t not love her.

Exotic World- AKA The Stripper’s Hall of Fame

Historic Auto Attractions-Lee Harvey Oswald’s getaway taxi is here!

Unclaimed Baggage Center- You know how you always pack the best stuff when you go on vacation?  If it ever got lost, it’s being resold here.

The Rest Stop of the Future-Awesome!

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Now here’s a suggestion for how to pack.  The shoes (The Cocobelle ‘Massai’) are, of course, from Barefoot Tess.

    Argh BTF,
I know you made that picture above using Polyvore… Argh and ugh to you! I think that bag, and bracelet, and of course the shoes are AWESOME. I wish you would link to Polyvore (if that’s what you’re using) so that I can see where those other non-shoe items are from!! I would love to recreate and attempt to purchase some of those items (in the above image).

xoxo Forever and Always loving your shoes–even if I can’t pick up my orders and now have to pay for shipping because I moved away from Baltimore and down to Georgia,

    Chuck :)

    OK, Chuck.

From now on, I’ll link back to polyvore.
