I was walking past the Apple store yesterday and I noticed about 7 people lined up in lawn chairs outside of the store. “Oh,” I realized. “The new iPhone comes out tomorrow.” I shrugged it off and kept walking. “Wait,” I thought. “It’s 4pm. These people are going to wait outside upwards of 18 hours for a new phone?”
Later I passed a dad not watching his kid run into the street, a homeless man sleeping on a bench, and drunk girl falling. I didn’t judge any of them, but I could not help thinking about those people waiting in line. What a half-baked plan. “I’ll waste an afternoon, a night, and an early morning so I can be one of the first 7 people to get a phone at this location.” What I found utterly ridiculous was that if they’d gotten online this afternoon, they’d wait maybe 5 hours. That’s a lot, but nothing compared to 18.
It’s true–maybe there wouldn’t be any white left and that would be disappointing. And the iPhone is the single most amazing phone/tiny computer ever created. But seriously, 18 hours?
All that aside, the iPhone is a beautiful accessory in any season. Here are some shoes to match. You can wear them while sitting in a wireless network video chatting your other friends who have new iPhones, free time, and happen to be sitting in wireless networks as well.

It’s the weekend and all you want to do is jump into a convertible and hit the open road. You’ll leave home for a few days spent crumpled in the back seat and a few nights spent trying to figure out if anyone’s ever been murdered in your motel room. It’ll be great. The best thing about road trips is that the possibilities are endless–the country is teeming with interesting attractions for you and your friends to enjoy, and there’s no shortage of diners along the way.
When packing for a road trip, it important to only bring the essentials. Of course you want to look cute the entire time, and you should definitely bring a bathing suit for the motel pool. But besides that, the most important thing is a pair on sunglasses. No one wants to squint her way down the highway.
Now that you’re going on a road trip, here are the top 5 road trip attractions in the US (according to me.)
Dollywood- You can’t not love her.
Exotic World- AKA The Stripper’s Hall of Fame
Historic Auto Attractions-Lee Harvey Oswald’s getaway taxi is here!
Unclaimed Baggage Center- You know how you always pack the best stuff when you go on vacation? If it ever got lost, it’s being resold here.
The Rest Stop of the Future-Awesome!
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Now here’s a suggestion for how to pack. The shoes (The Cocobelle ‘Massai’) are, of course, from Barefoot Tess.

June has been declared Aquarium month. Who knew? So get out your DVD’s of Finding Nemo, retrieve your saved episodes from Shark Week and take part in the celebration! If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could even head over to your nearest aquarium. It’s easy to get hypnotized by the gigantic tanks inhabited by peaceful turtles, graceful stingrays (although Steve Irwin might disagree…) and the schools of small spunky colorful fish darting around. Either way it’s the month of June and thus the season must be honored with a trip to Sea World, a new pet goldfish, or at least a viewing of The Little Mermaid.
Featured are: Ciao Bella “Petunia” wedge, Faryl Robin “Madison” wedge, Cocobelle “Starfish” sandal, and Cocobelle “Maasai” sandal

It’s the weekend and you’re headed to the lake house! Just because you’ll be hanging around all weekend, playing board games and lying out on a raft, doesn’t mean you won’t want to look adorable all the time. You can pack light and still maintain the fabulous factor with a few simple tricks.

Love those sandals? Score a pair from Barefoot Tess!

IT IS NOW OFFICIALLY SUMMER. A few schools are still in session, but no one attending them is still paying attention in class. Meanwhile the rest of us have already started eating Italian ice and running though sprinklers. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT—SUMMER!
Summer is all about the weekend trip. The hardest thing about the weekend trip is knowing what to pack. Should you bring heels? A light jacket for the evenings? Bug spray?
It is my pleasure to announce the weekend trip series. For each post there will be a new destination and a new weekend bag full of stuff. Check out Blogging Barefoot tomorrow for the first stop: The Cabin by the Lake. (I know that sounds like a horror movie, so I’m going to tell you right now—pack a flashlight. You never know.)

If you have never seen a play before, admittedly detest musicals, or have attended all of the plays currently out on Broadway the Tony Awards most likely still provided you with some entertainment. Even if you have no idea what the plotline for “A View From the Bridge” is, or why Scarlett Johansson won Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play, we all scoped out the outfits on the Red Carpet.
This process of judging the outfits of celebrities never gets old, regardless of the occasion. They can be going to the supermarket and still every component of the way they dress will be fair game to our criticism. Not so fun for them, but a great pastime for us!
So after scrutinizing these celebs from head to toe, I’ve found some Barefoot Tess shoes that have made the cut for the 2010 Tony Awards fashion scene. If you’re a fan of Laura Linney, take a look at the Renata Heel by A. Marinelli. If Kristin Chenoweth is more your style, you will like the BFT Kitten Heel. And if you R-E-S-P-E-C-T Aretha Franklin, check out the “Vaunt” heel by A. Marinelli.

Today is a day dedicated to feet and the wonders we can accomplish when we use them. They take us to one destination to another, they are a medium to show off great shoes, and they can also relocate a ball from the wide-open midfield to the cozy nest of net between two goal posts.
Football is all the rage today (and for the next month). So with such an emphasis on feet, the bigger the better! Celebrate the unique capabilities that your feet can achieve and slip on a pair of sneakers to see what your feet can do. So while the World Cup carries on, what I declare as “Feet Appreciation Month” should ensue as well. And what better way to celebrate than to crown your prized possessions with the luxury of a new pair of shoes?
