“The sneak-rets to our success…”
August 27th, 2009 by admin
Here’s another binary demarcation: Sneaker people versus non-sneaker people. In our experience, sneaker people tend to wear almost nothing but sneakers, while non-sneaker people tend to..well I guess the name is pretty much self-explanatory on that one.
For instance. Ellen Degeneres, sneaker person…
Victoria Beckham? Non-.
Seriously, seriously, non-.
In fact, she even wore wedges to throw out the first pitch at a Dodger’s game. See?
How ridiculous is that? We mean–How? Ridiculous? Is that?
The answer is, very. It’s very ridiculous.
But you know what’s even more ridiculous than that?
Being either one! Aligning yourself either way–with the nons- or with the all-of-the-times! We think it’s cool to keep ‘em guessing.
Because do you know what’s coming back this fall? With a vengeance?
This…
And this…
And this…
Yes, it’s true, it seems that as we enter the twilight (see what I did there?) of the aughts, the 90s are upon us again.
So why not wear a pair of cute kicks with your new flower print baby doll dress?
Like these ‘Hommie’ Sneakers, from Blowfish…
Or these Bensimon Les Basiques?
And don’t forget to check back with BFT as we head into September, because we’ve got a whole lot of sneakers on the way…

How does Vicky B. not fall over on her face? I wore a pair of higher than normal heels to lunch one day. I went into the bathroom stall to ‘take care of some business’ and when I stood up I tipped over and slammed my forehead into the stall door.
I think I still have a dent.

Victoria Beckham’s Christian Louboutin LOOK cute, but it seems as if her feet don’t think so.

I think the only thing more ridiculous than Victoria’s sneaker wedges, are these http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/694261/sneaker%20heel.jpg
I can’t seem to think of where those would be appropriate. They are very much a sneaker as well as formal heel.
Wait no, I think these running shoes with heels are even more impractical! http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/694261/sneaker_heel.jpeg
I don’t think we’ll ever see Ellen or Victoria sporting these shoe hybrids around town, but let me know if you catch them!

Ashley– you’re right, both of those are ridiculous…

This season, wedges are all the rage and thats a good thing. These sassy sandals are great for everything from special occasions to a night out on the town. While those sexy stilettos were fun and took you everywhere you needed to go, this is the summer of the wedge and it couldn’t be better.
