Puddle-lovers

I am currently visiting Boston – a wonderful and adorable city. If you haven’t been, you should go. Anyway, as I stroll along through my sightseeing day I am astonished by the array of impressive Wellies I see trotting down the street. Now, I know that Boston is a city of many raindrops and I am not surprised by the amount of April showers that pour down on these lovely little streets – but these bright colors and patterns topping off (well, bottoming off in this case) a stylish outfit, splashing through puddles and prancing over pools without a care in the world – it’s a sight that can make any gray day rainy blues disappear!
In fact, armed with my own assortment of eye-catching water footwear from Barefoot Tess, I believe I have fallen in love with rain. I find myself skipping through gutters, twirling my umbrella (which I lost 2 hours after purchasing) pretending to be Gene Kelly dancing in the rain. Sure, I get some strange looks, but that is the beauty of visiting a city – I don’t know these strangers and they don’t know me!
So what if they gawk and point and laugh at the out-of-towner deliriously enjoying nature’s waterworks.
I think tomorrow I will recreate my Halloween costume of 1996 and take to the streets of Caimbridge and Back Bay as the Morton Salt girl. Although, that requires purchasing another umbrella… and I think it is actually supposed to be sunny tomorrow…
Even if you don’t enjoy my intense newfound love for rain, check out Barefoot Tess’s amazing rain-friendly collection to adorn yourself in style when the raindrops keep falling on your head. Here are some of ‘my favorite things’ (Julie Andrews rocks):
