Shoe Me Your Style!

April 29th, 2009 by barefoottess

Question: Which looks more satisfying?

or

Answer: No contest.

I mean, even if you love plain vanilla ice cream like I do (it’s classically delicious, rich, to the point, no fuss), most of us would agree that many things in life are improved with a little accessorizing. Whether it’s chocolate sauce drizzled over your heaping dessert scoops, or that cute new summer skirt for your new JP & Mattie sandals – dressing up makes everything look, feel, and taste better. Shoes are not exempt.

Great shoes can make a statement on their own, but boy can the packaging make a difference. Check out these new striking images from Barefoot Tess – fabulous shoes set in gorgeous backgrounds on BFT customer’s very own feet.

Uh oh… I see a contest brewing…

That’s right! Let “Shoe Me Your Style” begin! ap・pre・ci・a・tion

April 27th, 2009 by barefoottess

BAREFOOT TESS APPRECIATION DAYS are going on right now at Barefoot Tess! Why? Well…

We don’t celebrate the wonderful things in our lives enough. There are so many precious and great things happening around us daily, yet honestly – how many times have you stopped to truly appreciate them? I’m afraid with all the focus on negative economic slumps and international distresses and swine flus, we may have even forgotten what it means to appreciate. So I looked it up:

ap・pre・ci・a・tion: uh-pree-shee-ey-shuhn (noun):

gratitude; thankful recognition:

Gratitute and thankful recognition? Ok. Here I go.

I whole-heartedly appreciate a warm pair of socks on a cold winter night. I am grateful for a hefty portion on my ice cream taster spoon (I can’t stand when they just nick the surface and deprive you of the delicious chunks!). I give thankful recognition of this appreciative cartoon. And these days more than anything, I appreciate the opportunity to save money on fabulous shoes!

So today and tomorrow, show your appreciation for the online phenomenon that brings you incredible designer styles in sizes that (gasp) not only fit, but actually flatter your beautifully big feet! In turn, Barefoot Tess will show you their appreciation for your continued support in expanding shoe fashion beyond the measly size 10 – and give you a whopping 30% off any Barefoot Tess brand shoe on the site! You rub my back, I’ll rub yours. You make incredible shoes in my hard to find size easily available online and I will wear them with pride and spread the good word. You tickle my toes, I’ll tickle yours. Too much? Sorry.

Bottom line: if you appreciate Barefoot Tess, use the code ‘BFT30′ to cash in on 30% off any BFT brand shoe Monday and Tuesday during Barefoot Tess Appreciation Days!

We have a winner!

April 24th, 2009 by admin

Sorry for the delay, I was spending the morning rushing to the airport and then squeezing into a middle seat between two people who probably should have bought 1.5 seats each… as their thick arms draped into my tiny crammed space squishing me further into a suffocated mess.

Sometime in the middle of this ordeal, the Name That Shoe 2 mystery shoe was discovered! Congratulations to our grand prize winner Tiffany for figuring out the mystery shoe: The All Black ‘Indian Girl’ Sandal. Thanks to all those who commented and guessed during this contest – I hope you had fun. Next time maybe it will be you that snags the prize!

How about a group thumbs up for Tiffany:

Don’t forget to follow this blog by clicking on either the Facebook or BlogLovin’ “Follow This Blog” links on the right of this entry so you can get updates and notices when I post new entries, contests, ramblings, whatever… and get a jump start on all things shoe.

All Black ‘Indian Girl’ Clues revealed:

1) Anyone would instantly be persuaded to grab these adorable shoes! (Just a hint that it was made of suede.)

2) Color me happy with all these hues. (The assortment of colored beads make this one of the most colorful shoes on the website!)

3) This is a shoe, not a surrey, but one can easily see the similarities! (Surrey with a fringe on top? Fringe on the heel. Ok, only OKLAHOMA fans would have gotten this one, but still – it had to be done.)

Enjoy the rest of your day… and stay tuned to BarefootTess.com this weekend for some new fabulous shoes!

Name That Shoe 2!

April 23rd, 2009 by admin

Another round of Name That Shoe has now begun!

For those of you who don’t yet know how to play, here is the deal: This game is quite simple, quite fun, and quite lucrative. Inspired by The Ellen Show’s “Mystery Word” game, I have a predetermined word – the name of a Barefoot Tess shoe – which I am trying to get you to guess. In order to figure out which of the vast assortment of fabulous shoes at BarefootTess.com that I have chosen, you must stay tuned to Blogging Barefoot for continuous clues. The longer the mystery goes unsolved, the more clues I will give you.

-

You are allowed to guess as many times as you wish, by commenting on this entry. Anyone who provides a guess by commenting on this blog will be automatically entered into our monthly blog drawing for a shoe discount at BarefootTess.com, but the grand prize of $50 will go to the first person to correctly guess the magic shoe! There are no guessing limits per person – so guess away until I post that there is a winner!

(Look carefully at this image: a Shoe Wheel! It was advertised as a shoe storage container, and I’m just obsessed – but prefer to think of it as Blogging Barefoot’s shoe version of The Price Is Right’s big wheel that the contestants spin for Showcase Showdown. C’mon, you know you love that show too! So if it helps you get into the mood, pretend to spin this sucker as you think up answers to the following clues)

Let’s begin. To get you started, here are three clues about this week’s Magic Shoe:
Clues:

1) Anyone would instantly be persuaded to grab these adorable shoes!

2) Color me happy with all these hues.

3) This is a shoe, not a surrey, but one can easily see the similarities!

Happy guessing and searching on BarefootTess.com! Good luck!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, RE-BOOT!

April 22nd, 2009 by admin

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

In honor of this wonderful day dedicated to loving our world and taking care of the planet that takes care of us… I went in search of the perfect Earth Day image to capture the essence of the day. There were many options in my difficult choice of which image to decorate this here blog, but number one was my Earth Day man to my left. What he lacks in color, he makes up for in adorable-ness. I mean, right? And he gets the job done – staring at such an adorable cartoon world really does make me want to reuse, recycle, and reduce!

-

Speaking of reduce, how about reducing the amount of money you spend on incredible boots from Barefoot Tess? In fact, let’s even add in a fourth R: re-BOOT! Today only, in honor of Earth Day, celebrate how the earth can bring us amazing shoes that give us fashion while protecting us from the planet’s unpredictable weather (no complaints Earth, I swear! Just an observation!) – go to Barefoot Tess to re-BOOT your system and wardrobe and stock up on earthy boots at 20% off! Make sure you use and reuse the code ‘BOOT‘ at checkout, and then recycle this amazing information to all of your friends so they can re-boot on Earth Day as well!

-

And now, a few of my favorites, conveniently in earth tones. All day these and all other boots are 20% off at Barefoot Tess!

And tomorrow – another round of NAME THAT SHOE! I promise, right after my Earth Day love ends…

Please sir, I want some more.

April 21st, 2009 by admin

When Oliver Twist reluctantly and boldly asked for more to eat in Charles Dickens classic novel… his request was not met with a glowing reply and abundance of seconds. He was deprived of his fair share of seconds. As a person who usually helps herself to thirds and more often than I’d like fourths, my heart goes out to little ol’ Oliver. Every time I read that book (ok, honestly? I don’t think I’ve ever read the entire book… but the musical movie version counts as “reading” it, right?) this scene breaks my heart. Just give the poor boy some more crummy porridge!

-

Well, this week when you ask for MORE, Barefoot Tess gives you MORE! During the “Sliding Scale Sale,” the more you spend the more you save! It is not too good to be true… the more fabulous shoes you add to your closet the more money that stays in your wallet. That almost rhymed. Not quite though. Or does it? I can’t tell. Closet and wallet… so close yet something about it is still so wrong. I digress…

Oliver, we have no sloppy watery porridge to offer you. However, if you have any interest in amazing designer shoes in large women’s sizes, then you are in luck! You can have more, and more, and more, and more, and more at Barefoot Tess- just don’t forget to type in the code ‘MORE‘ when you checkout to see all the savings add up! And you can keep coming back and shopping until you are totally satisfied… no one leaves hungry for more shoes, not at BFT!

Enjoy!

Share the Shoe Love.

April 20th, 2009 by admin

I know my opinion is biased, but I think Blogging Barefoot is one of the best blogs for fabulous shoe tips, knowledge, and prizes (especially prizes!) out there today. That being said, there are some amazing blogs run by incredible bloggers that have wonderful tips, tricks, deals, sales, shoe advice, and information on all things tall that no fashionable blog-loving tall / large sized foot lady should miss. So, while I would love to selfishly keep you to myself and hold a monopoly on the shoe-infused tips you receive… I feel compelled to let you in on some amazing sites that can help you find the true shoe and tall tips you deserve.

-

SOME OF MY FAVORITE BLOGS FOR FUN, ENTERTAINMENT, AND GREAT SHOE TIPS:

For great shoe tips and spotlights for bigger feet – check out the well written and fashionable My Lovely Big Feet” blog. The blogger, Chi Chi, describes her blog as “a fashion shoe blog with international flavour. It provides daily updates on fashionable shoes in large sizes in Europe, UK and the US. The aim of this blog is to inform my fellow large feet women out there on the latest shoe styles. It is an informative shopping blog resource for women with large or big feet.” Check it out and see for yourself!

-

For you tall ladies out there – here is your ultimate resource: TallWomen.org has information on tall clothing, shoes, dating resources, famous quotes, tall links, pictures, a guest book – you name it, it’s here! It is your one stop resource for all things tall… including shoes that flatter and fit a tall (usually large) foot. I love this site and all the information that can be found – plus, the blogger is incredible! I’m telling you, you won’t be disappointed…

-

Finally, the list of my favorites would not be complete without Andrea’s wonderful Your Feet Make You Unique blog. This site is perfectly constructed to provide “a comfortable place where women with Large Size Feet can feel better about walking in their own shoes. Stocked full of interesting, practical tips, shoe reviews and shopping information for women who wear Larger Size Shoes.” In short – it is a fabulous resource in that search for the ultimate, fashionable, perfectly fitting large size shoe. Andrea is brilliant. Listen to her.

Check out these wonderful sites! I hope you enjoy their tips and large shoe size knowledge as much as I do. Tomorrow, make sure to check out Blogging Barefoot for another round of the “Name That Shoe” contest!
