Piggy Prizes – Who Wants $50?

March 30th, 2009 by admin

This little piggy asked a question.

Thought she could have some foot fun.

Came to her blog to check the answers,

Saw she did not have even one!

This little piggy went, “aha! It’s time to up the ante and make this playful question into a full-fledged competition” all the way home.

If you did not previously read my No More Bacon post of last week, I’ll fill you in on the details: The toe rhyme of our childhoods (This little piggy went to the market…) does our feet no justice. To quote my earlier blog entry, “Pigs: fat, round, pink, dirt rollers with flattened snouts and curly tails. Toes: long, slender, pink, ring holders with bursts of color on pedicured nails. Ok, so they’re both pink. And the pigs went to a market… something my toes enjoy doing as well. But still. Pigs? Really?”

And then I called out for some help, “I challenge you – toe and pig lovers alike – to help me reinvent this chant. This time, let’s align our foot appendages to mystical unicorns collecting for a night on the town. Or galloping white horses, elegantly headed off to a high-end boutique. ‘This stunning stallion went to a trendy shop, then to a classy shoe store. This beautiful horse bought stilettos until she could afford no more.’

But today, today I am kicking it up a notch. I’m not just asking anymore; now there’s a prize involved. That’s right. I said PRIZE. The person who can come up with the best (read funny, clever, fitting, brilliant) animal analogy for toes other than slimy filthy (ok, and adorable) hogs will get a prize. I am going to select the most clever, most interesting, most foot-worthy rendition of the piggy foot chant, and give that person a $50 coupon to BarefootTess.com. $50 to spend on whatever shoes their little heart desires!

It’s so easy. Here is an opportunity to fill your piggy banks just by replying with your natural wit and creativity! I will announce the lucky winner who will bring home the bacon – er – grand prize Thursday, April 2nd at 12pm EST. Here’s how to enter:

  1. Think of a brilliant rhyming animal analogy that gives our luscious and fabulous feet something to be proud of.
  2. Comment on this blog (click the comment link below) with your own 5 lined toe chant following the “This little piggy” format. Make sure to include your name and email or facebook account so I can reach you if you are the winner.
  3. Attach any images, videos, links, or extras that will aid me in my decision making process (I love pictures!)
  4. Check the blog Thursday, April 2nd at 12pm EST to see if you are the winner!
  5. If you are the lucky, clever hog – go to BarefootTess.com to claim your $50 coupon grand prize! If you are not the lucky (but still quite clever) hog, cheer yourself up browsing the fabulous new shoes at BarefootTess.com.

  1. Sarah Says:

    This little piggy had a friend,
    The friend was a cow.
    The cow was cruelly skinned for leather,
    And it saddened the sow.
    So Sarah pledged not to wear leather. Ever.

    But it made finding shoes very very difficult, especially because Sarah has size 12 feet. Sarah was forced to wear shoes a size too small, or canvas shoes for the rest of her life, just because she doesn’t support cruelty towards animals :(

    This party penguin waddled to the penguin mall
    She was primping for her fancy penguin party and wanted to impress all
    She found a pretty penguin dress, but couldn’t find her shoes
    You see our party penguin has big feet, and is rather tall
    Happily she found her shoes at barefoottess.com and waddled in style all the way home (and to the party!)

  3. Ashley Says:

    My size 11’s are in need of Blowfish flip flops;
    My size 11’s love all shiny peep toe heels;
    My size 11’s wiggle for anything by Dolce Vita;
    And boogie for the Loeffler Randall ‘Matilde” Boot—with a wedge heel;
    My size 11’s only shop at Barefoot Tess, because they have the greatest shoes and some really awesome deals!

  4. Alison Says:

    This fabulous girl’s feet were too big,
    That tall girl couldn’t find shoes
    Until a stylin’ friend shared her secret:
    She said, “Go to Barefoot Tess!” What great news!
    And all the big-footed girls cried, “FINALLY!!!” all the way home!

  5. Dione Ford Says:

    This little piggy wore a size 6 but
    This little piggy feet were long so
    this little piggy went to barefoot tess
    and shopped til she could shop no more
    she shouted with glee” whoopie” when the
    shoes arrived at her home

  6. Dione Ford Says:

    One little piggy went to payless
    and the other one went to the mall
    but neither of them could find shoes to fit them at all
    so they surfed the internet and googled “large size shoes”
    and to their amazement Barefoot Tess came to their rescue
    now they no longer sing the big feet blues

  7. Rosie Says:

    This little kitten loves a kitten heel
    This little chick loves to peep from a peep toe
    This little duckling loves a cute wellie
    This bunny has places to go (looking fierce)
    And this little lamb cried “It’s time for a pedicure!” past ev’ry springtime window

  8. Amanda Says:

    This little bear was full of woe,
    into prettier shoes her feet would not go!
    She tried and cried and sighed,
    but then Barefoot Tess came by her side!
    And she danced,
    danced,
    danced,
    danced,
    danced all the way home!

  9. Regina Asche Says:

    That little birdie had beguiling flare
    This little birdie wanted also a pleasing air but
    This little birdie’s talons were (urm) “unique”
    This little birdie waited for a week
    And this little birdie showed up that little birdie at the party and cried out rapt’rously all the way home.

  10. Keylan Says:

    This little ferret, curvy soft and sleek, likes to sniff and romp and sneak;
    This little ferret fancies sweet-smelling flowers and frolicking in grass after Spring showers;
    This little ferret dreams all day, and then, perfumed, dances the night away;
    This little ferret wants to run in the sun — salt-scented spray is its greatest fun;
    And THIS little ferret adores a long snooze curled up in a pair of brand new shoes!
