No more bacon!

March 20th, 2009 by admin

Remember that toe rhyme, “This little piggy went to the market, This little piggy stayed home….?” You know, the one grownups would say as they pulled individually on each of your tiny twinkling toes. Well, I have no idea why it popped into my head (maybe I had toes on the mind as I was perusing the fabulous new Delman Mercedes wedges on BarefootTess.com) but it’s been bothering me.

What do pigs have to do with toes? I mean, I love toes and pigs, but can’t seem to grasp the connection between the two. Pigs: fat, round, pink, dirt rollers with flattened snouts and curly tails. Toes: long, slender, pink, ring holders with bursts of color on pedicured nails. Ok, so they’re both pink. And the pigs went to a market… something my toes enjoy doing as well. But still. Pigs? Really? It does our feet no justice.

And so I challenge you – toe and pig lovers alike – to help me reinvent this chant. This time, let’s align our foot appendages to mystical unicorns collecting for a night on the town. Or galloping white horses, elegantly headed off to a high-end boutique. “This stunning stallion went to a trendy shop, then to a classy shoe store. This beautiful horse bought stilettos until she could afford no more.”

Seriously, I want to know! Comment below if a) you or someone you know has toes that in any way resemble pigs or b) you have a better analogy for toes than slimy filthy (ok, and adorable) hogs.
