“Mawwiage is…”

October 8th, 2008 by admin

So, I’ve been to several weddings in the last few months and watched the Princess Bride last night (hence the post title…), and I got to thinking about wedding attire. I confess, I’m not very au courant in terms of bridal footwear.  What do people wear?  White, shoes matched to their dress, flats, high heels?  What about ceremony v reception? We’ve had a few women over the years write in to tell us they were buying Barefoot Tess shoes for their wedding (which we LOVE), but I want to know what you think.  Are there any shoes we have currently that you think would be appropriate?  (Even better, have you worn any for the walk down the aisle?!)  I recently saw this stunning dress on one of my favorite blogs – Brooklyn Bride – and think i can picture it with one of these shoes.  thoughts?

Personally, I have purchased 7 pairs of shoes for my wedding this Sunday (all from you for course!). I just kept falling in love… and I rationalized that I would be able to wear them al again.

I purchased a pair of corso como “Dorothy” flats in magenta, 2 pairs of penny loves kenny “Arabesque” flats (in purple and red), a pair of Seychelles’ Little White Lie’ Ballet flats in ginger, Matt Bernson’s ‘Grasse’ Flat (too big, sadly… I missed the size tip), Sam Edelman’s ‘Cassia’ Ballet in red, and, most recently and the winner of the “which shoes will she choose for her wedding day” contest: All Black ‘Bloom’ Flat in ivory. My feet are just itching to take them out on the town and dance the night away. :-D

I was in a wedding this summer, and these were our shoes, dyed rose petal pink. The bride loved them so much she actualy wore a white pair herself!
